A good day

A long-anticipated cooler October day,
a family looking for some together time,
a brand new digital camera,
pumpkins dotting a stretch of farmland,
two bright-eyed and curious children,
new baby farm animals to greet,
exploring, lunch, and a scenic drive back,
and an action-filled soccer game to cheer,
unwinding at dinner, and
our 'stros playing on the tube.

This was our day.
And it was a good one.
