Word to the wise...(updated)

Let's say you are enjoying two lovely days of PMS that make you feel like you want to cry at the drop of a hat. You're house is a PIT (with a capital P) and you have more stuff to do than there is time before Thanksgiving tomorrow. You have more Xmas gifts to purchase than there is money and you're stressed about that. Top it off with not being able to work out (and not feeling like working out) most of the week...

OK, do you have a clear picture of that state of being?

Now, here's my advice:

Don't decide to go and cut off your toddler's gorgeous strawberry blonde curls a few inches after not having cut her hair before. The cut will solve the problems of it being in her face and looking like a mess, but the curls will be gone. Oh, my...they will be all gone forever. And, you're hormonal self may NOT be able to get over that. OK?

Learn from my mistakes, people... As the late Johnny Cochran might say--
If you're feeling in a rut, do not CUT!
---------------------------
UPDATE: OK, OK, I'm warming up to the cut. There's a tiny bit of curl still left too, so I guess MomCat will live.

This isn't directly related, but when Son-Three was two or so, Hubby was cutting his hair with electric clippers and Son-Three dozed off sitting up. When his head went down, the clippers made a path halfway up the side of his head. After that, Son-Three's hair wasn't cut again until just before he started kindergarten because Hubby refused to go near it. (He looked a lot like Kate Hudson's kid, but with dark hair--and yes, everyone thought he was a girl.)

Here's a bit of advice from a naturally curly headed mom of a naturally curly-headed daughter: after a haircut, it always takes a couple of days for the curls to figure out what the hell happened. They will return. No worries.
